This may seem like a non-democratic approach of freedom to vote, however, in my personal view/analysis, a person that is not competent enough to know how politics and governments really work, and had at least a relatively basic understanding of international affairs and how the whole amalgam of peace, conflict and self-interest work, is not properly qualified to vote.  Saying that unqualified people can vote is to admit the pervasive hypocrisy that to this day corrupts society, governments, cultures, and the world at large so easily.   A person that is not competent enough to vote, is a person that can easily be manipulated, psychologically or otherwise, into voting for a given Presidential candidate that is unfit for the highest office of leadership of a country, and a blunt disregard for common sense, intelligence and/or data, that can easily prove how much those elections are the byproducts of corruption, where individuals, groups, organizations, or other entities with vast financial, religious, or political power seek to mastermind the manipulated vote of a large number of ignorant citizens.  

Thus, the U.S. Constitution needs to be amended towards that end.  Now, I will tell you that at the time that the Fathers of the U.S. Constitution thought of giving citizens the right to vote, they were trying to be inclusive of citizens of any background or intellectual capacity, and yet, even then black human beings were still hypocritically being slaves, and women rights greatly disregarded, which things were eventually amended to counter discrimination, biases, and injustices that were evident in the original documents.  Likewise, changes, amendments, and the refinement of politics and the social paradigms by which a country improves the conditions and lives of its citizens needs to continue, however paramount the challenges, pleasing or displeasing those opposed to a better world for all human beings, and not just a fortunate few, nationally or internationally, by virtue of inherited wealth or by an individual's intellectual capacities that allows him or her to attain to positions of powers and/or wealth independent of inheritance or lack thereof.  Here is the caviat however:   "That even though only proven qualified citizens can (should be able to) vote for a National President, at the very same time, a country needs a very strong stand against the corruptive nature of money and power, and the wealthiest citizens of a country must be willing, by personal choice or by federal law, to share the fruits of their  wealth, of the labors made possible by the higher intelligence that God or nature gave them, with the lower clases of society, with the disabled who do not have an opportunity to live a comfortable and healthy life like those with higher status can.  

Moving into the future, hard choices will need to be made, because the ignorant talk of dirty mouths calling Communism &/or Socialism  "bad" is wrong, it is manipulative politics, psychological warfare that most citizens are not even aware of, and those who are can hardly understand.  Socialism & Communism are based on highly honorable and plausible humanitarian maxims and constructs, but, it is the very corruptive nature of human beings, of those in power in those systems, the ones that have given Communism & Socialism their bad names.  But, there is plenty of crimes and corruption as well in "Democratic" political systems.  Again, all those political constructs and paradigms are incredibly valuable, and were created in their respective settings, environments, or countries, because "contextually" they were "plausible" solutions for those people at those points in time.  Look at China today, it is not the "communism" or "socialism" of before!  They (China) are creating millionaires at an incredibly fast pace, and aside from its current technological might, it is projected to become the world leader in wealth, science, and technology.  Those things would had been counter or not allowed in the communist/socialist China of not long ago.  China is behaving in terms of business in some ways much more creatively and proactively even more as a "new form of capitalism" than even the U.S.A. It is evident that the lines between "Democracy"and "Communism" get more transparent over time, and the world, but especially each country individually is not adjusting properly to those changes.  Human beings in general continue to greatly disregard the paramount and critical importance of being humanitarian and a peaceful civilized human being first, and a person devoted to science, technology, financial success and power later.  

Unless humanity learns in a timely manner moving forward how to properly deconstruct parts of society, of economics, of the political process, international law, etcetera, inevitably this planet, and all its constituents, including human beings, will be at a chaotic precipice of extinction, and denying the truth will only make humanity less prepared for that event.  Unless world leaders and powerful entities engage in the better forms of leadership that nature or God gifted them to potentially exercise, and save the world and humanity for the betterment of all, there will be no livable planet Earth left, nor human beings to physically continue to relate the story of humanity and life on Earth.
